bTAMI | THE EXTENDED FAMILY BAND | BABA

Tami, whose full name is Oluwatamilore has a name from the Yoruba dialect which literally means “God has bestowed upon me a gift” and this young Nigerian truly has a gift with which she will bless the world with - her angelic voice.

This delicate soprano seamlessly fuses her jazz and afrobeat background with the new R & B and Hip Hop culture, delivering a mature and distinct sound.

Dropping melodies on lucent instrumentals, her soft vocals feed the ears with a mellow and crisp tone that is guaranteed to capture the attention of any listener. Like a soothing balm, it relaxes, giving a delightful dose of sounds complemented by instruments.

She is featured extensively on Baba’s album and exhibits her vocal agility by effortlessly maneuvering through scales and notes octaves apart. Her range is normal of any soprano, but her use of it is dynamic.

Tami takes after her mother, a prolific Rhythm and Blues, Afrobeat and jazz singer. Singing back up and lead roles in sold out jazz concerts and gigs, she spent her younger days nurturing her talent
Her soulful mystique is complemented by her striking looks and completes the package of a modern singer.

However not just a pretty face, Tami has a lot of prior achievements under her belt. She represented Nigeria and indeed West Africa as a youth representative at the United Nations at the World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance (WCAR) in Durban, South Africa in October, 2001.

Prior to that she attended the Preparatory Committee Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland where she was elected a member of the International Youth Committee comprising of 2 youth per region (Africa, Europe, The Americas and Asia) which had the task of organizing young people from the various regions of the world to participate in the upcoming WCAR In 2002, she also attended the World Summit for Sustainable Development inAlgiers, Algeria as a youth representative of Nigeria.
All this she did while being a full time law student.

To top it off she currently holds the ‘QueenAfrik’ title. As this young achiever has intentions of hitting the music scene, Tami sends a positive message to young women all around the world. In a world today where women are under represented for their intellectual ability but promoted for their sexual features, it’s refreshing to see a new breed of talent.
With her soft but powerful tone and sensual yet spontaneous vibe, the world eagerly awaits the coming of D4W’s first lady, Tami.
